AM KEMPELENPARK – Interim use of the casino

AM KEMPELENPARK shows, how innovative concepts and targeted out-of-the-box thinking can make optimum use of inner-city spaces, even during the planning phase. The interim use of existing buildings has established itself as a successful model over the years and will be continued during the ongoing development of the entire quarter. This not only has an impact on the area itself, but also on the neighbourhood: successful interim use revitalizes the district, minimizes vacancies, strengthens the social use of the space and makes inner-city space, which is already in short supply, accessible.

The casino in particular, an impressive hall with around 1,000 m² of space and unusual architecture, has proven to be a popular location for the film industry. From film sets to costume and prop workshops – the building offers a wide range of possibilities. Production designer Daniel Steinbach emphasizes: “The film industry is currently experiencing strong growth in Austria, there is a shortage of new talent and a lack of studios that can afford productions budgeted for German-speaking countries. The industry is therefore dependent on the use of original locations, but also on adaptable interim use.”

Samuel Steiner
Our 2024 summer intern at the ÖBA

In July and August, we had active support in local construction supervision from our intern Samuel Steiner. He describes his experience at STC Development GmbH as follows:

“Since the beginning of my internship, I have found myself embedded in a highly qualified, committed and courteous team, which, despite the current challenges in the construction industry, enables me to have a meaningful and instructive working day, both on site and in the office. While, for example, inspecting the concreting on the 35th floor of a project was associated with a great deal of personal fascination on my part, the office offers a pleasant working environment characterized by a lively exchange with colleagues. As a dual student of architecture and economics, I really appreciate this contrast. The in-depth insight into planning documents, actively experiencing the construction progress on site, the responsibility for invoice collation, the entertaining discussions and, last but not least, a strong team all add up to an internship experience that I wouldn’t want to do without in my personal development.”

Breathtaking views from Peak Vienna

Peak Vienna, formerly known as the “Florido Tower”, is an outstanding example of modern architecture and urban working in Vienna at 113 meters high. Since its completion in 2001, it has dominated the city skyline and offers a breathtaking view of Vienna. Under the management of STC Development GmbH, the office tower was extensively revitalized, resulting in significant CO₂ savings and a considerable reduction in energy consumption.

We are delighted that this impressive perspective has now been recognized in the book “Imposing Views” by Viola Rosa Semper and Charlotte Schwarz.

Around 250 privately financed apartments are to be built on construction site A3 in the AM KEMPELENPARK quarter in the immediate vicinity of the park.
Like plots B2/3 and A1, plot A3 is being developed by us in line with our overarching neighborhood concept.
The architecture, designed by Delugan Meissl Associated Architects and Ganahl Ifsits Architekten, combines modern elegance with high functionality.
The well thought-out structure of the building and its open orientation towards the park create bright living spaces that meet the highest standards.

Highlights of the A3 development site:

What lifts the spirits more than a magnificent view? Together with our investor Filip Rosa from ZBI Zentral Boden Immobilien Group, we climbed the almost 90-meter-high crane of the High Five. The impressive view and the visible progress of the project are something to be proud of! By working in partnership with ZBI Zentral Boden Immobilien Group, we are able to achieve great things together. Projects such as the High Five shape the diversity of the Linz skyline and create valuable living and working spaces. The project is taking shape and we look forward to sharing further progress soon.
